How to register a found item

Registering an item is a simple process and can be done on a PC or laptop as well as a mobile device.  

Uploading with an Image

  1. Select the photo of the lost item you want to upload, or if on mobile, take a picture of the found item.
  2. Add any relevant information for your venue, such as found location.
  3. Press Upload and the image recognition will fill in the details for you to review.
  4. If necessary, you can physically attach the unique reference number to the item.

Uploading without an Image

  1. Type the item title and the found location in the respective boxes.
  2. Press Upload.
  3. The platform will process the title to give you the details for you to review.

When should I upload with an image?

Regular items such as bags, clothing, phones, keys and more can be uploaded with an image. Ensure the item is clearly photographed, showing any distinguishing details or features. 

When should I upload without an image?

Do not take a photo of any item that hold data sensitive information. This could include a person’s address, date of birth or card details. Passports, driving licences, bank cards etc should be uploaded without an image.

Now, you need to review the item.

How to review an item

Add as much appropriate information as possible – it’s all searchable!

Once you have registered the item, make sure to review it.

  1. Check the Item Information and edit any incorrect or missing fields.
  2. Add additional information below the item title (e.g. contents of items or distinguishing features).
  3. Add a Storage Location if needed.
  4. Press Complete Review – the item will now appear in Found > Ongoing Items.
